Producer Summary: Carta Roja Pura, an organic and no sulfur added wine, has been created by Ehrmanns with Bodegas San Isidro to meet the growing demand for sustainable wines that treat the environment with respect. The wine is made from organically grown grapes in the rugged valleys of DO Jumilla in southern Spain, where the climate is ideal for organic viticulture. Low-yielding old bush-vines with roots deep in the baked limestone soil, create an intense wine, with smooth tannins and the ripe dark berry notes typical of the Monastrell grape. The absence of added sulfur during the winemaking process ensures the purity of fruit shines through in every glass. Carta Roja Pura is suitable for vegans and with no sulfur added during the winemaking process reduces the likelihood of allergic reactions.
Short Tasting Note: Aromas of black fruits with ripe blackcurrant, cherry and raspberry notes on the palate.
Long Tasting Note: Low-yielding old bush-vines created a deep purple red wine with aromas of black fruits. The palate show ripe blackcurrant, cherry and raspberry notes which are balanced by soft well-integrated tannins.
Awards: 2019 Decanter Bronze (2018 Vintage), 2019 IWC Commended (2018 Vintage), 2017 Decanter Silver (2016 Vintage)
